Rawmarsh St. Josephs v Handsworth Boys, U. 11s

Team :
Mendoza

McEwan Carter Burrows M.Taylor

D.Taylor Watson Sweeney Marsh

Shaw Burns

Another two points for Rawmarsh St. Josephs, beating bottom of the table Handsworth Boys
4 v 3 in an entertaining fixture at Olivers Mount (Handsworth Boys ground). There were a lot of chances ¦some taken and some not.

St. Josephs took an early lead through Josh Shaw, with a lovely outside-of-the-foot shot, but then lost concentration with Handsworth Boys pulling level.

St. Josephs then bounced back to take a 2 v 1 lead, with Josh Shaws second taking it round the keeper and slotting it in, but their work was then cut out with Handsworth equalising for the second time. The score at halftime was 2-2.

After the half time team talk St. Josephs were fired up and scored almost instantly after the break when a goal-keeping error led to Andy Burns putting the ball in the back of the net. But once again Handsworth Boys equalised. Then manager, Pete, brought on Chris Telling, James Booth, Alex Butterfield and Michael Ramsden to try and win the match. And, five minutes from the end, it happened …with a good turn and shot from Lewis Carter which gave St. Josephs their fourth lead. Fortunately, this one they held on to and it was another two points for the Division A newcomers.

There were few clear chances for either team, Goalkeeper Mendoza made an important early save to keep the scores at 0-0. After about 15 minutes Mark Taylor cleared the ball upfield, Josh Shaw was alert and crossed the ball to Lewis Carter who put the visitors in front.
The match was quiet up to half time with the conditions getting worse.
Five minutes into the second half substitutions David Taylor, Andy Burns, Matt Burrows and Ryan Watson all made their appearnace.
As Brunsmeer pushed forward Joseph's found room on the left and Burns crossed a great ball to Carter in the middle who touched it on to the bar.
Taylor and Burns were creating chances for Joseph's and Brunsmeer were pushing for the equaliser however defence held out and the score remained at 1-0 .

Rawmarsh.st.josephs.U14 V Beighton.magpies. Cup Round 2 18/11/01

Both Teams started off Very well. After ten minutes into the game Matthew Souter took a free kick around 25 yards out it came off 2 player and met inspector gadget with a Looped header over the goalkeeper. Then Beighton Magpies got a well-deserved equalizer with a deflected goal near the end of the first half. Both teams came out eager to win the game. After the first 10 minutes into the game Rawmarsh started to put pressure onto the back four of Beighton. Then Jack the right back sent a through ball to Ben where he took the ball around the goalkeeper and put the ball in the back of the net. The last 10 minutes Rawmarsh dominated the half with Souter hitting the bar and sheppy with a disallowed goal. The last minute of the game Souter crossed the ball into the 6-yard box where Adam was there to put his 1st goal of the season with his left foot. So the game finished 3-1 to Rawmarsh after a well deserved win. Manger John Lloyd said it was a good display in the second half. Trevor Edge running the line to keep himself fit.

Thanks to Luke Shaw for the report

RAWMARSH ST JOSEPHS U11 3 - 1 JUNIOR BLADES U11 (CUP ROUND 2)

After the pre-match team talk the team took to the field with fire in their bellies and got off to a great start with encouragement from the defence and midfield. Later a sweetly played ball that found its way through to David Taylor was buried in the back of the net and the Blades defence didnt know what had hit them. Later on in the game Michael Ramsden hit one from the corner flag which sailed past the Blades defence and ended up in the net leaving Rawmarsh 2 0 at half time thanks to a brilliant save from Aaron Mendoza just before the interval. In the second half it was fairly even with both sides creating chances however after a Burns strike the game seemed to be all but over at 3-0. An uncharacteristic mix up between the Rawmarsh defence and the goalkeeper gifted the Blades a goal. The final 10 minutes produced no further scoring leaving Rawmarsh worthy winners, which took them into the next round.
Manager Pete Tellings after match comments being it was a solid all round good performance.
